What are crystals and other minerals?
When most people think of crystals, they think of gems at their local jewelry stores or high end glassware in the kitchen section. However, it has become a booming business for other reasons. If you do a simple Google search about crystals, a few well known publications come up talking about the healing properties of these beautiful “rocks”. Forbes, Oprah Daily, Harper’s Bazaar, even Science Daily have articles available about which stones represent which healing properties. While some debate the effectiveness, others tout the "why not just try it" attitude. You might be surprised to learn that there are shops through out Macomb and Oakland counties here in Michigan that sell crystals and minerals. Even Macomb Community College has a Rock and Mineral Show every year.
This webpage is to discuss some of these properties for both rare and common crystals and minerals. Also included are tips for purchasing crystals or minerals. While this might seem a bit out there for some, this is entering into the mainstream at an accelerated rate. Even stores such as Five Below, Target, Meijer started selling reference books or crystals at their stores. Social media also seems to be featuring healing properties of crystals and minerals. When you look at it all paired together, it is only a matter of time before it reaches more mainstream recongnition.
